New Fiat 500 from only £9,960
On July 4, 1957, in Turin, Fiat presented the Nuova Fiat 500, a real icon of our times, with which Fiat concluded a revival that had begun straight after the Second World War. On July 4, 2007, exactly 50 years later, again in Turin, Fiat presents the new Fiat 500 which will be marketed immediately after the launch. And the new car will conclsude an equally important cycle of revival for Fiat Automobiles Spa.
The new Fiat 500 has arrived at Research Garage. It comes with three engines, and three trims to choose from. Each one with its own distinct, cheaky personality.
Trim levels include: Pop, Lounge and Sport.
Introducing the Amazing TWIN AIR 875 cc
A 2 – Cylinder petrol engine with not only Class-Leading fuel economy and CO2 emissions, but also with all the performance of a 4-cylinder unit:
- 95 g/kg CO2 emissions: the lowest of any petrol engine in the world
- 68.9 mpg on the combined cycle: the most fuel efficient petrol engine
- 85 bhp: as powerful as mainstream B segment vehicles
- Top speed: 108 mph
- 0 – 60 mph: 11.0 seconds
- 145 Nm at just 1900 rpm: high torque at low rpm, meaning rapid acceleration and responsiveness.

The fiat 500 now comes with start & stop as standard across the whole range, The Start & Stop system is becoming something of a craze in the motoring industry, due to its ability to start and stop the engine when it is, or is not needed, as the title suggests. This obviously means huge gains in economy for the Fiat 500. Fiat is suggesting that users should see a 5.5mpg increase in fuel economy, while CO2 emissions have fallen by 6g/km, in comparison with the previous model.

The Matt Black name reinforces the character of this car: irreverent and mysterious. The 500 Matt Black is the first vehicle in this segment to offer the special paint, and is one of several exciting Fiat 500 limited editions being introduced this year.
Based on the 1.2 and 1.4 Sport specification, the Fiat 500 Matt Black features:
• Individual matt black paint finish
• Mouldings, door handles, door mirrors and plate holder in metallic effect
• 16-inch alloy wheels in matt black with red coach line
• Red brake callipers (1.4 only)
• Special carpet mats
The 500 Matt Black, like all Fiat 500s comes as standard with Fiat’s Start&Stop, which stops the engine automatically whenever traffic conditions bring the car to a complete halt, and restarts it immediately the driver wants to move off again.
The paint finish is the most striking feature of this new limited edition.
